CLASS Starting with our most familiar tool, the graphite pencil, we will experiment with dry and wet blending techniques and classic shaped point mark making. While doing so ew will get a taste of “Plein Air” sketching traditions and also explore using pencil to create travel, urban, and journal sketches in this 5 week Tuesday class. Meeting at Beverly Street Studio School, we will sketch in the classroom studio and around Staunton (weather permitting). Quick pencil studies will be our starting point and we’ll also be trying several other pencil sketching strategies as well as both classic and very contemporary pencil techniques. Suitable for beginner to advanced students who have some experience in drawing (or painting).

ENROLLMENT Minimum of 3 with a maximum of 12 students.

STUDENTS: Adults and very mature/older (15+) Teens

DATES AND TIMES:

Tuesdays, June 10th to July 15th @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. (We will skip Tuesday June 17th.)
