Sketching with others can be quite fun and it is great to share with each other what we have made. When sketching or painting with friends or colleagues, I often find that I tend to gravitate to non-typical or the non-iconic views of our shared subject matter. I was with several fellow sketchers and plein-air painters at Virginia’s Natural Bridge southeast of Lexington and made this sketch. It doesn’t show a view of the whole site, instead it’s from underneath the stone arch. This 5x11 watercolor sketch on archival paper.
