It was a beautiful late spring afternoon … warm and sunny and I was headed home. But the light was just rights, washing the whole streetscape with rich but diffused gold and the shadows shimmer in deep clear blue-violet. After a few dozen photographs and two smaller sketches, I decided on just painting this section of an old wall.
