East by Southeast, looking towards the Blue Ridge. I sketched this 4x5 (click on image to see a full view) piece with ink brush from a comfortable perch on a hill south of town. I then added a little color as the lowering sun lit up the field below me and the tops of a passing thunderstorm on the other side of the ridge. Matted, framed, and wired for hanging. (The outer dimensions of the framed piece are 10x11.)
