Just before the sun began to drop behind the San Jacinto Mountains the Coachella Valley was bathed in clean, clear light. As I looked towards the furthest ridges, the trees and palms filled my vision. Here and there the oasis canopy was broken by a few taller buildings. I raced the setting sun and the onset of a more golden light and deeper violet shadow to finish this piece.. The sketch is an 11x5 (click on image to see a full view) watercolor and pencil piece on Archival paper. Shipping is included in the price.
