This small watercolor painting (click on image to see a full view) was started early in the morning during mid-May as Spring was in full force along the ridges and river valleys south of Shenandoah mountain. The marshy rivulet empties into the nearby Cow Pasture River. The painting has a wild jumble of mark making and washes and was a delight to paint. You can also see my preliminary 5” x 7” ink & wash sketch that I did the previous evening. The painting is on 8x11 archival watercolor paper
