Let’s explore several sketching mediums in this short five week class. We will begin by working in the studio but, whenever weather permits, we will work mostly outside (“en-plein-air”) to capture the beauty of our fall landscape. After starting with traditional pencil and ink sketches, you will be able to choose what other material you wish to explore for the addition of a wider or more subtle value range, greater texture, and/or color. Some choices you might consider: watercolor or gouache, watercolor pencils or color pencils, dry pastels, oil pastel, or watercolor crayons … I will demo most of these but you pick the one(s) you already love or want to explore in some depth! For beginners to advanced students who have at least a little experience with drawing or painting. Adults and mature teens.
